AI Speeding Fine Petition
Please see the petition concerning speeding fines that were imposed upon the people of Sarina and others in the Electorate of Mirani and no doubt many other jurisdictions.
As we know there have been many fines that are being issued to people that are adamant they were either on cruise control or their speed was not what the camera recorded.
Many of these cameras are being placed in areas that that contravene Police guidelines 6.3.2 and in my opinion are raising revenue as opposed to the “increasing safety” narrative being pushed.
I feel that this situation needs to go back to old fashioned Policing so their is an actual “accuser” to face in court, rather than an AI controlled device of which no details about are known if it can be reconfigured remotely by telemetry to change parameters at any time?
The true pursuit of safety would be to warn drivers after the first instance of an offence rather than allowing the behaviour to continue without reprimand and to gouge the community with a string of fines.
Please sign and share to ensure there is at least some code of conduct to prevent revenue raising when deploying AI cameras and issuing fines here in QLD.

This will lead to mass chaos when no one has a licence to get to work anymore, especially when in some places you don’t even see the signs telling you what speed you are meant to be doing because they are erected in places after the sign when coming from a direction that does not take you past it. And your too busy looking for a sign then up pops the camera over a rise. Where are they at 3 am in the morning when the real hoons are out screeching around and waking people up thinking someone is going to crash through the front of your house 🙄
Agree
We need consistency of laws/rules to apply to where these units are located the police have guidelines for the use of speed camers, It would appear the private contractor can rewrite there own rules to maximise his profits, and let us be realistic if you are in business you are there to make money and as much as you can so road safety is not there concern only the pursuit of making money. They think that they are above the law and can do what ever they want and queenslanders won’t fight back (how wrong they are).
